Since 2003, Matt has been providing expert service in courtrooms across the country. Whether in state courthouses or the federal circuit, he has successfully supported many dozens of matters throughout his career. These matters include civil pro bono; criminal pro bono; contract disputes; civil fraud cases; entertainment cases; intellectual property cases, including patent and trade secret cases; multidistrict litigation (MDL) cases; and white-collar crime.
Matt’s experience is diverse and extensive. He is a dedicated trial technologist who has supported the biggest civil litigation in history, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill matter and has had the rare opportunity to work in a U.S. Supreme Court trial, Florida v. Georgia, No. 142 Original.
Prior to starting TrialTech Consulting, Matt spent fifteen years at Kirkland & Ellis, LLP as an in-house Senior Firmwide Trial Technology Specialist based in their Chicago office. Prior to that, he was a Senior Trial Technology Consultant in the Litigation Technology division at FTI Consulting.
In his many years of experience in litigation, Ken has assisted dozens of trial teams across the country and is expert in warroom and courtroom support. He is multi-talented in that he not only can hold his own in a courtroom while in the hotseat, but he can also develop graphics to help better educate juries.
At Kirkland & Ellis, where Ken spent 13 years as an in-house Senior Firmwide Trial Technology Specialist, he honed his skills while working on pro bono matters; contract dispute matters; civil fraud matters; entertainment matters; intellectual property matters; and MDL multidistrict litigation cases, including the Deepwater Horizon oil spill matter, the biggest civil litigation in history.
Ken is responsible for creating countless demonstratives and graphics for use in the smallest of pro bono matters to multimillion dollar trials, including for the U.S. Supreme Court, Florida v. Georgia, No. 142 Original trial.
"... Your Honor, before I begin, I want to just recognize two individuals on our team who have been in court and have not been thanked yet for their work; and I would like to introduce them. I believe you know Matthew Smith, who is our senior trial technology specialist and keeps things moving for us; and also Ken Dyche is another member of our team who helps prepare all these demonstratives. And I just wanted to acknowledge them on the record."
